This post is a virtual tour of our NEW HOUSE! Mostly
for my mom, who feels better when she can SEE where her children are
living since she hasn't been able to visit yet.
I wrote the following the day these pictures were taken two weeks ago:
We've been living in our
new house for 14 days (Luke and I were out of town for 4 of them) and
we LOVE it! As of today, every single thing down to the smallest knick
knack is unpacked and in it's place and the pictures are on the walls.
We don't have much in the way of home decor yet and our framed photos
look a little small on the walls of a full sized home, but we'll worry
about that stuff later. We are just so excited to have a HOME in a
BEAUTIFUL area with wonderful neighbors, whom we are already getting to
know and love.
OUR HOME!
View from the front door with the stairs (we'll come back to those
later), hall closet, and half bathroom on the left; the baby-gated off
exercise room on the right; and the living room and back door straight
ahead.
Front door & entry way
Our exercise room! This is technically the dining room, but it's so far
away from the kitchen (weird) that we are using it to work out. That's
my (our) new treadmill on the right. I love it! I gained almost 15 lbs.
living with the in-laws over the past 3 months so it is getting a lot of
much-needed use!
Nice big hall closet next to the stairs. My mom was disappointed when I didn't take pictures of the insides of the closets when we moved into our last apartment in Flagstaff, so I am correcting that this time. Get ready to see a lot more closets!
The closet curves to the left under the stairs.
1/2 Bathroom. That painting was left behind. I'm not sure that I like it, but I don't dislike it enough to have taken down yet.
1/2 Bath closet. We filled it with games (and toilet paper).
Living Room. Jeff thinks we need a bigger TV.
The boys watching football.
Turn
around and you are facing the kitchen/dining room. We have a little
card table until we can find a dining room table we like on Craigslist
:)
The
back door was out of view, but directly to the right in that last
photo. Here is the view of the backyard from the back door.
Back into the kitchen. You can see the laundry/utility room doorway to the left of the refrigerator.
Pantry door on the left and our awesome HUGE new fridge.
BIG pantry!
Kitchen (LOTS of cupboard space!)
Laundry/Utility
room and door to the garage (and that is the refrigerator that the
previous owner left behind - we are in the process of selling it. We
already sold the washer she left. Sweet!)
Nice new washer and dryer (we got the fabulous employee discount on these and the fridge since they're GE and Jeff works there).
Lots of shelf space in the utility room!
Garage. A few big empty boxes left to get rid of and a pile of things for Goodwill by the door.
Back to the stairs.
Up the stairs we go.
Upstairs
hallway. Jeff's and my bedroom is to the left and take another
immediate left around the little half-wall. The door you can see is the
guest room (a.k.a empty room). Luke's room and bathroom are down the
hall and to the left. At the end of the hall on the right is the
playroom.
Master
bedroom. Our little full bed look so small in there! We're so used to
it after 3 years, that we're not in any big hurry to get a queen or
king. Other purchases take priority.
Master Bedroom
Master
bathroom (tub and shower out of sight on the right, open door straight
ahead on the right = toilet, closed door to the left of that - linen
closet, open door to the left of that - walk-in closet.
Practically
empty guest bedroom. I am a nanny for my 1 and 3 year old nieces during
the day. This is where Becca, the one-year-old naps. The dark curtain
over the window is to keep the light out so she can nap.
Guest room closet (just a little extra bedding, pack-n-play packaging, and a vacuum)
Luke's/Guest bathroom down the hall. It nice and big!
Luke's/guest bathroom closet
Luke's room, right next to the bathroom.
Luke came in and decided to explore the diaper pail for the first time. Bad idea.
I guess it smelled.
Luke's closet, empty except for diapers, wipes, and a few things on the shelves.
The shelves in Luke's closet - mostly blankets.
The
play room, across the hall from Luke's room. Notice the little wall
basketball hoop in the bottom left-hand corner of this picture.
Playroom closet - all things for the next baby (clothes separated by size in the bags on the top shelf)
Playroom closet
That concludes our tour! :)
