15 Months

Luke is currently 16 1/2 months old, but I wrote down a list of the things this goofy, fun, brilliant, sweet, hilarious, lovable little guy was up to at 15 months old. Here it is...

• First, his stats:
• Height - 34 in. (>99%) Yep, he's still ridiculously tall!
• Weight - 25 lbs. 11 oz. (68%)
• Head Circumference - 19 in. (78%)
• Luke loves to help, with anything from bringing in groceries to cleaning. He especially loves the enthusiastic "thank you!" he gets in return.
• On a similar note, Luke really enjoys "cleaning." He will often spill liquids just so he can grab a towel or blanket and dry it up.
• He loves to throw and kick balls (and occasionally, other things that he shouldn't throw or kick). He is getting better and better at throwing overhand.
• He has been practicing talking a lot lately. He imitates things we say, but he is sometimes reluctant to do so when asked. He has imitated several words somewhat successfully, but the only ones he really says consistently are "hi" and "uh-oh." He understands a TON though!
• He likes to stack things (blocks, cans, etc.)
• Luke LOVES to "drive." He will try to climb into any open driver's seat to turn the steering wheel and push all of the buttons. He also loves when we go to a grocery store that has carts attached to toy cars so he can turn the steering wheels the entire time we are shopping.
• This boy can really move. He runs faster and faster all the time.
• He LOVES to be outside and would probably be happy to spend all day out there. He asks to have his shoes put on and then goes to the door expecting to be let out.
• Speaking of doors, Luke is now tall enough and clever enough to be able to open doors with both handles and knobs now, just so long as the door isn't too heavy or hard to pull open.
• Luke gives the best hugs and he especially loves to hug other kids and animals.
• He loves to swim and play in water wherever he can find it.
• He still hates when I leave his sight or go upstairs without bringing him with me.
• He loves ALL animals, big and small
• He wants to try on every pair of shoes he can get his hands on and he can actually take several steps while wearing my heels. It's quite impressive!
• He is a great climber and loves to try climbing up on top of things.
• He likes to color
• He laughs a whole lot. He is SO goofy sometimes! And he thinks he is pretty funny.
• Luke is happiest when he has both Mom's and Dad's full attention.
• Luke loves to "talk" on the phone with Grandma and Grandpa Lamb, Aunt Katrina, and anyone else who will talk to him. He puts the phone to his ear and just walks around the house smiling, laughing, and chattering away.
• Luke dances almost any time he hears music.
• He loves keys - just holding them, carrying them around, and trying to use them to open things.
• He LOVES blankets. The green one Renita's sister Ila made him is his favorite. He insists on carrying them around before and after naps and bedtime. He drags his green one around every night while he drinks his nightly bottle of milk.
• He loves slides and riding on things with wheels.
• He loves putting on chapstick, but he almost never puts in on correctly. For some reason, he always puts it on the back of his neck and sometimes he eats it.

We love our boy so much! Parenting of course, can be a challenge at times. For us, mostly when having a baby who has a specific nap time and bedtime sometimes gets in the way of doing things we'd like to. But that is a small price to pay for the absolute JOY Luke brings into our lives. He is so sweet and just so much fun! We are so blessed to have him in our family!
