Jeff and I have a new calling in the ward! We teach the Sunbeams! Can I just say that I LOVE that fact that all, but one calling we've had since we've been married have been together?! Back to the Sunbeams... they are the 3 and 4 year olds and we have 7 of them in our class - 3 girls and 4 boys. They are a rambunctious group, but so sweet and fun. It's quite a challenge keeping them all entertained and well-behaved for 2 hours (the first hour on a bench for sharing time and music time with the whole junior primary ages 3-7 and the second hour in our individual classroom), but we really have a great time with them. We keep our lessons interesting with charades, fishing, acting, felt boards, coloring, puppets, and of course snacks!
A couple of my favorite quotes so far:
Payton: "Stupid girls!"
Ashlyn: "Peyton, don't say that. You know I'm your friend and I love you."
Me:"And what happens when you're 8?" (correct answer: you get baptized)
Brynlee: "Baptized!"
Ashlyn: "And you get rude. My brother Aiden is 8 and he's always rude!"
We started teaching near the end of November and the day we started teaching, Luke started nursery (kids 18 months-3 years). He was over a month early, but the nursery leaders kindly took him to give us a break and he was so ready to go! He doesn't mind being away from Jeff and I for 2 hours at all and every week he comes home with a balloon. He loves it!
And to finish, just a couple of pictures from a Sunday afternoon...
Luke looking a bit like a cute little old man in his rocking chair with his blanket over his legs. He was so excited to wake up to chocolate chip cookies after his nap.
It's been cold lately! We had to teach Luke how to use his pockets to keep his hands warm on our walk.
