...3 weeks ago. Yes, I'm a little late. (I WILL get this blog caught up this week!)
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! In the morning, Jeff played football with some guys from our ward at church, while I put the finishing touches on my turkey cupcakes.
Those feathers are made with fruit roll-ups and toothpicks, in case you were curious.
When Jeff got back from playing football, he and Luke had a marvelous time playing in the sprinklers in the backyard.
Luke would push Jeff into the sprinklers first and then run after him across the yard.
Luke's water-logged diaper was weighing him down so he lost it!
Ben and Caitlin hosted Thanksgiving this year. I don't know when I'm going to have to figure out how to cook my own Thanksgiving turkey, but I'm not looking forward to it! I was very impressed with Caitlin! And grateful that she took on that job!
We played in the backyard while we waited for the Driggs (Greg's sister and brother-in-law and their daughter Emily and her husband and three daughters) to arrive.
Luke loves to "jump." He has a hard time getting both feet off the ground at the same time, but it's really fun to watch him try.
Bethany was still having king of a rough time. Her extra-sensitive self did not want to try the monkey bars by herself (even though she has done it several times before)!
The spread. It was all deeelicious!
Luke was so excited to finally get to eat one of those turkey cupcakes he had been watching me make all morning! Earlier that day, after I had told Luke that the cupcakes were "turkeys," I was telling him about what we would be doing at Ben and Caitlin's later and I asked him if he was going to eat a lot of turkey. When he heard the word "turkey," he thought for a second, and then ran over to the tray of cupcakes and pointed at them, yelling excitedly. "Yes! I do want to eat a lot of turkeys! I thought I made that clear!"
Weird kid putting inching those monkey feet up onto the table.
Dinner time set-up
The pies were so pretty!
After dinner, we played the game "Word on the Street." It was so much fun! And my team won - always a plus.
Hannah and Luke played a round after we were done.
Family pictures
Babies LOVE Uncle Allan! Luke and Becca both just hugged and snuggled him forever!
It was a wonderful Thanksgiving! And I am thankful for SO much! I can't believe how blessed I am with the best family and friends, a beautiful home in a beautiful area, great neighbors, a great ward - just a great life!
