Feeding the Ducks

One Thursday (the day the girls are with Grandma and I only have Luke), Luke and I went for a long walk and ended up at a duck pond. Fortunately, I had grabbed some bread on the way out the door for that very possibility.

These ducks were not shy! They all came up onto the grass and walked right up to us. They were practically stepping on our toes!

Luke loved it!

This duck was especially friendly. I took this picture without the zoom.

Luke decided to eat the first piece of bread I gave him instead of giving it to the ducks.

See how close they were?! I was starting to get a little nervous!

When we ran out of bread, Luke tried feeding the ducks a pine cone. They didn't go for it.

I thought this black and white duck was beautiful.

It seems like these birds are usually so skittish, but this one just hung out in the water about 10 feet away from us.

Luke and I spotted this squirrel in the tree above us. When it realized we were aware of its spying, it ran and leaped from tree to tree until it was far, far away from us!
