Test Drive!

April 28, 2012

Most of you have probably heard that we bought a boat a couple of weeks ago and we're really excited about it! Here are some pictures of the day we got to test drive our beautiful boat - the day we officially decided to take it home with us ...

We played around the dealership while we waited for Cliff to be ready to take us out on the lake..

Note the bouncy ball on the left of this picture. I think Luke forgot to keep his eye on the ball.

Racing Daddy to catch the bouncy ball.

Right after Luke threw a "fit." He didn't want Daddy to beat him to the ball, so he was deeply offended when Jeff did. But Luke's fits aren't what you would probably imagine them to be. He doesn't kick or scream. He just lies down flat on the ground on his stomach and stares silently straight ahead. Yep. It's pretty rough. haha But this time, when Luke tried lying on the pavement, he said, "hot! hot!" and got up right away. He walked over to the little path that's next to him in this picture and tried again, but that was too hot too. He finally figured out that the grass wasn't too hot and threw his "fit" there. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again, I guess.

Pouting in the boat while we waited.

Luke getting his valley girl on.

Watching the little tractor pull our boat out to the lake. Luke thought that was the coolest!

On the water!

Jeff has driven a boat a few times in his life, but not recently. He wasn't nervous at all though. I was shaking in my boots, worrying Cliff might make me try driving on this tiny lake (I've never driven a boat before), especially when he made Jeff try docking it! Thank goodness he didn't make me!

Luke was so excited to drive!

This boy is already as in love with boating as his dad is!

Happy, happy boy!

Cliff let this little tough guy sit on his little dirt bike in the repair garage.

A bench made out of the seats of a boat. Awesome.

Cliff let Luke play with the hose too. I think Luke wanted to stay and play with him all day instead of going home with Jeff and I.

When Cliff asked us what we were thinking after we got to test drive the boat, Jeff acted unsure and indifferent and I blurted out, "I want it!" Obviously, I'm not very good at negotiating. But it all worked out. We still got it for a great deal! I might have been in trouble otherwise. ;)

That's seriously awesome. I love your description of Luke's "fits." I hope Ellie's are the same, lol!
