There are two awesome splash pads in Fairfield, the April openings of which were highly anticipated by our family. The weather was getting warm and Jeff and I knew Luke would love them! We were right ...
This little girl chased Jeff and Luke around squealing and laughing like she'd known them her whole life, even though we didn't even know her name! She even asked me for a sandwich when we were having lunch (her mom intervened). She was glued to our sides until her mom took her home for shoving Luke.
Here's Luke just lounging after playing on the playground next to the splash pad for a while.
Luke soon figured out that chlorinated water does not taste good. And so did Jeff and I when he insisted we have a taste after him.
Cheesy
And cheesier
Apparently it takes two strong boys to push the button that restarts the water all over the splash pad.
Hungry boy after all that playing!
A couple of days before this, Luke and I spent the day with Renita at her house in Spring and Renita helped me make about a zillion (15ish) jars of strawberry jam. And even though she bought all of the supplies, somehow they all ended up back home in our freezer. On top of that, Jeff stopped by on the way home from work, and she fed us all dinner. We're spoiled.
Anywho, after we got home from the splash pad, I made some homemade bread and we ate it warm out of the bread machine with our unbelievably delicious new jam. It was heavenly.
