Luke is 2!!!

 June 27, 2012

Luke turned 2 at the end of June and we were all so excited to have Grandma AND Grandpa Lamb make their first trip out to Texas for his party!

Grandma Lamb came out first (Grandpa flew in a couple days later) and she brought Luke an awesome new bath toy. We had to try it out right away!

Grandma and Grandpa Fisher came over the night my mom came into town and Luke COULD NOT believe that he had TWO grandmas in one place! He was excited to the point of bursting that he could finally introduce them to each other! When Grandma Fisher walked in the door, Luke grabbed her hand and dragged her over to Grandma Lamb. He just stood between them holding both of their hands looking up at them, giggling excitedly. It was so sweet.

June 30, 2012

Grandpa Lamb flew in late Friday night, in time for Luke's party on Saturday.

We had a TON of stuff to bring over to the splash pad for the party and we refused to take two trips! You can't tell, but we're each holding at least two big glass bowls/cake pans/cake stands, etc in this picture! Jeff had to take the turns sloooooow.

The invitation. We had a construction theme, since "nump trucks" are Luke's favorite.

The cake. My Starburst construction cones melted just a little overnight.

Becca and Rocklond

Love those parents of mine!

Brooklyn testing out the wrecking ball game for us.

Daxton

Rory, our cute neighbor.

Rocklond and Marin

Marin. So cute.

Three pregnant girls in this picture (one of them is hiding in the background). And this wasn't even all of them! The pregnant woman count at this party was unusually high.

Becca starting the wrecking ball game. Number of bricks knocked down = number of Starburst won.

Ashlyn

Kolby. Look at the intensity! This kids seems like such a little athlete!

Bethany

Rory insisted on helping Jeff reset the bricks every time.

The birthday boy's turn!

Aurelia

Naomi was either focusing really hard on taking the perfect shot or she got stage fright ...

Either way, it took a lot of convincing to get her to let go of that ball!

A little assistance from sister.

Make a wish!!

It was so cute how excited Tyler was to give Luke his present. They were Hot Wheels cars - Luke loves those! Tyler: "Do you like it? Luke: "Yeah!"

It started raining a little, so gift opening (and the food table) moved under the awning.

Love this cute book from the Lopez family!

I wanted to buy this dump truck for the food table for the party, but it was out of stock, so I had to get the bulldozer instead. And then the DeCaires' showed up with the dump truck! It's like it was planned! Notice Aiden and Ashlyn anxiously waiting to see if Luke likes it and Becca helping with the unwrapping. It was so cute to see all of the kids get excited to see Luke's reaction to their gifts!

Olivia and Daxton

A couple more of our cute neighbors: Keira and Lucia. Luke is surrounded by cute girls on our street!

A storm was rolling in right on top of us!

It started raining harder.

The rain had perfect timing. It waited until we were finished with all of our party activities and then picked up enough, tossing in a little lightening and thunder, to clear everyone out and send us all home.

Luke opened gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Fisher when we got home.

A deflated ball or a hat? You decide.

Grandma Lamb helped Luke open all of the cards he had gotten in the mail in the couple of weeks leading up to his birthday. Thanks Great Grandma Fisher, Mamal, and Aunt Debi!

Trying out his new bubble gun.

Taking his new tricycle for a spin.

Luke couldn't get enough of this skateboarding game on Grandma's phone. He thought it was hilarious when the little skateboarding man crashed!

Time for dinner at Alicia's!

Mmm fajitas. And Alicia's makes the best ones I've ever had!

Enjoying our complimentary soft serve ice cream cones outside the restaurant.

July 01, 2012

I realized when we got home that I forgot the plastic hard hats we meant to bring to the party for all the kids! Bummer!

I had to bribe Luke with a Starburst to get this smile out of him!

Playing "Dice Game" after Sunday dinner.

Luke and Becca taking turns with a whistle while they watched Dora the Explorer.

Sharing Grandpa Lamb's banana bread.

July 02, 2012

We spent Grandma and Grandpa Lamb's last full day with us at Splashtown water park!

Jeff and my dad on the Texas Free Fall!
Luke watching for Grandpa and Daddy. After they went, Luke said, "My turn!" Crazy kid!

"Do you want Mommy to go down with you?" "No. Mommy go 'way." (with a little push to make sure I got the message) That's my big 2-year-old.

My cute parents. We loved having them in town!

The ever competitive Jeff had to look back mid-air to be sure he won the race!

Me on the left, Mom on the right.

This kid was way too busy having the time of his life to stop and smile for a picture!

July 03, 2012

We stopped to ride the train before taking Grandpa to the airport.

Poor Luke's pants were too big. He had to hold them up on the walk back to the car.

Thanks for visiting and making Luke's 2nd birthday extra special, Grandma and Grandpa Lamb!
