Little Fish

June 7, 2012

We ordered a Puddle Jumper life jacket for Luke immediately after we saw how much Becca loved hers and how easy it was for her to get around in the pool all on her own when she was wearing it. As soon as Luke's came in the mail, we headed straight for one of Fairfield's awesome public pools to try it out!

"He loved it" would be an understatement! He was completely giddy the entire time we were there! He just couldn't believe that he could swim all on his own with the big kids! He even got brave and went down the water slide several times all by himself!

SO excited to be able to splash around in the kiddie pool with all of the other kids - without Mommy holding him! He kept getting up in their faces grinning and laughing like he was trying to say, "Isn't this the best ever?!"

I couldn't believe how brave Luke was about the slides! I went down with him the first time, but then the lifeguards told me we had to go down one at a time, even toddlers. I didn't think Luke would be down with that idea, but when I told him I couldn't go with him, he didn't even look back! He got out of the pool all by himself, ran over the slide, walked up the stairs, and slid down! He came up out of the water with the biggest grin on his face and said, "Again!" Mind you, this kid wasn't even 2 at the time! He's crazy!

Gymnastics? Pole dancing? Whatever he was doing, it was fun!

I just watched Luke as he swam off on his own about 15 feet away from me, making friends with people along the way! I love how well that life jacket works! It keeps his head out of the water no matter which way he flips or turns, so I don't have to worry about him, as long as I keep my eyes glued to him at all times.

Playing the old "dead baby" prank on the life guards.

Some of the other kids shared their toys with Luke.

Such a fun day at the pool! Luke didn't want to leave!

I told Adam, "Man, Jeff and Kira's little boy Luke? He's a freaking daredevil! Like he doesn't even care, he just does it!" Adam's reaction: "Duh. He's Swoldier's kid." :) I also love that he's a little Fish-er. ;)
