New Car

Jeff and I have known for a long time that it would be a huge inconvenience to have only one car when we moved to Flagstaff and Jeff started work with Gore. We knew we wanted a second car. Jeff did plenty of research and we mulled over our options for a long time. Finally, we decided we would go the used route and started looking around at near-by dealerships for some of the cars we had considered. Jeff test-drove a few close to home and decided he really like the Honda Accord. There were two different 2007 Accords at two different dealerships in Salt Lake. On August 10th, the three of us drove out to test drive them and make a decision. The first car we drove was advertised at about $2,000 more than the second one. The more expensive one had a few things that the cheaper one didn't: leather seats, seat warmers, automatic seats, dual zone automatic climate control; and the cheaper car had 30,000 miles on it, while the more expensive one had only 25,000. In addition to that, a couple of the cheaper one's windows made unsettling noises when they were rolled down and there was some corrosion on the battery. We tried to negotiate lower prices on both of the cars. The cheaper one barely budged, while the more expensive one gave us $500 off and that new price was the out-the-door price - absolutely no additional fees. With all of this considered, it still wasn't an automatic decision. We considered everything over chocolate vanilla swirl frozen yogurt and eventually decided on the more expensive of the two. It ended up being a great decision. We love this car! And I'm the spoiled one who gets to drive it, while Jeff continues to drive the Jeep to and from work every day.

Getting ready to drive out to Salt Lake

We tried these cute shoes on Luke for the first time.

Jeff let me drive the car home from the dealership, while he and Luke drove home in the Jeep.

That night we took the new car to a going away party for Brooke, Ben and the kids at the park. They moved to Missouri a few days before we moved to Flagstaff. Ben is going to school there to get his PhD. We are really going to miss them. They are such a fun family and even though we only saw them occasionally, I really loved those times.

Tricia took this picture of us at the park.
