6 Months

Our sweet baby Luke turned 6 months old on Jeff's birthday and boy has he changed in the past month ...

• He loves to drink out of a glass. He opens his mouth expectantly when he sees anybody drinking out of one while holding him.
• He sits up like a champ and can pull himself back up after leaning to the front back or side.
• If he sees something he wants, he pushes off of the chest of whoever is holding him and tries to dive for it, so be on your toes.
• He can stand on his own for a minute or two at a time if he is holding onto something.

• He loves to “walk” while someone holds him up by the arms. For some reason, he takes really big steps with his left leg and little ones with his right leg.
• He is making a little progress towards crawling (he gets up on his knees or toes with his little bum up in the air, but mostly ends up just inching himself backwards as he pushes with his hands). We wouldn’t be too surprised if he walks before he crawls.
• He loves to scream and yell, especially in church.
• He has 2 teeth (bottom front)

• He wants to taste everything everyone else is eating.
• He cried when something was taken away from him and stopped crying when it was given back for the first time a few days ago.
• He eats 40-50 oz. of breastmilk/formula, ½ cup or more of oatmeal, 2 jars of baby food, and the occasional banana-flavored puff every day.
• He likes to suck on weird things like pickles and pineapple.

 

• When his daddy makes him dance by twisting his whole body back and forth, he does the “sprinkler,” putting one hand on the back of his head and holding the other arm straight out.

• He is still a terrible sleeper. He wakes up every two hours most nights and sometimes even more.
• He is happy almost all the time and smiles and laughs for just about anyone
• It is really obvious when he is tired because he rubs his eyes with both hands.

 

• He loves to blow bubbles and make tooting noises and will often do it for a few minutes straight.
• He loves other babies, kids, and furry animals and smiles and laughs whenever he is around them.
• He smiles for the camera all on his own.
