General Conference Weekend

Jeff and I have loved listening to the counsel of all of our wonderful church leaders this weekend (and getting to do it in our pj's makes it even better!). We are so lucky to have such incredible people to help guide us. We've especially loved all of the talks about parents this weekend because they apply to us now! We can't wait to be parents! We're just hoping we can do a decent job of following all of the counsel we've been given about raising our children. We'll do our best!

On Saturday night, while Jeff was at the stake center watching Priesthood session, we had a little girl's night at my wonderful friend and old roommate, Melissa's apartment. Our other former roomie Laurel came, along with Melissa's cousin Alexa and Alexa's roommate, Monica. Sadly, Emily (our former roommate and Laurel's current roommate) couldn't make it, but hopefully we can get together with her soon. We all brought tasty snacks, which we ate on Melissa's cute Easter paper plates while we discussed all kinds of fun girly topics (guys, babies, roommates, etc.) Then, we chose Never Been Kissed from a selection of chick flicks and crammed onto Melissa's bed to watch it (that's where the TV is and there is no couch in the living room haha). Melissa was excited to feel the baby kick during the movie. He's getting bigger and stronger every day! It was so fun to see these girls and catch up. They're so great! I was blessed with such awesome roommates that I'll be able to stay with friends with my whole life.

We had Dan (Melissa's husband) take this picture of us after he got back from Priesthood Session. He had his brother hold the lamp (on the left side of the picture) so we would all have the perfect lighting on us. So funny!

P.S. Our Bishop challenged us a few months ago to read the Book of Mormon together as a couple by this conference weekend and we did it! It's been so great to get to read together each night before bed. We're planning on starting D&C tonight.
